I give to my loving wife Meriam Whitehead one Negro woman call Sylvia also one horse & Chair to her and heirs forever. I lend my wife Meriam Whitehead the plantation whereon i now dwell with all the land by Grand Father bought of William Powers and two hundred acres Joining Arthur Whitehead called the Nigh Pineywoods and half the profits of the Orchards my mother is now possessed with after the death of my Mother and two Negros called Peter and David One best feather bed & furniture One half dozen Cherry Chairs one pair Tables and Buffet with all the furniture in it during her natural life Consideration other maintenance and schooling of my children I lied to my loving wife In consideration of the maintenance and Schooling of my children I leave to my loving wife the use of all of the residue of my estate both real and personal during life in widowhood or until my eldest son shall arrive to the age of twenty one years (two certain tracks of land which I shall direct to be sold Excepted) then I give all my other lands to be divided amongst my sons Maximilian Whitehead Lewis Augustus Whitehead Jack Anthony Whitehead Archer Mead Whitehead Adolphus Whitehead Lemuel Murder Whitehead to be allotted & set apart to them by & at the descretion of my Executors or any two of them in their ears forever I leave my land in No Carolina Gates County which I purchased of James Parke & Benjamin Harrell to be sold by my Exors and a Lawful title made the purchaser by a deed assigned by my executors and the money arising from such sale to be applied to the payment of my just debts and if the aforesᵈ land should not be sufficient to be my debts then my will and desire is that such a part of my land lying in Southampton which was granted my father by Patent dated July One thousand seven hundred seventy four may be sold as aforesᵈ that will be sufficient to pay all my debts or if my executors shou'd think it best to sell all the aforesaid track I hereby impower them to do so & to make a title to the same as aforesaid --- I give the land which I have lent to my wife during her natural life to be equally divided amongst my sons as aforesaid to be allotted & set apart to them by in at the discretion of me Executors as aforesᵈ to them and their heirs forever - I give to all my children (viz) Maximilian, Lewis Augustus, Jack Anthony, Archer Mead, Adolphus, Lemuel Murder, Sally, Mitildy, Lucinday, Harret Whitehead all that part of the personal estate which I have left my wife during a natural life to be their property at the of my said wife.
